rickly pear is South
Texas' most important and usually most available emergency feed in time of drought or
severe winter conditions. By utilizing prickly pear
and a supplement such as cottonseed hulls or hay during drought conditions, weight loss on
cattle can be held to a minimum. You can keep your cattle, while others are having to sell
at unusually low prices. After burning, it will take about three years for the pear to come
back completely. Grass will be back after about six months. The prime advantage to feeding
pear during a drought is to maximize the number of cattle per acre.
Not only used for prickly pear, our heavy duty torches work great for burning weeds and brush.
If used with a liquid withdrawal valve on the tank, our torches will burn liquid LP and produce a very large, forceful flame.
